BARBADOS launches new marketing campaign including partnership with Celebrity Italian TV Chef Simone Rugiati
Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc recently announced the launch of its Good Living marketing campaign scheduled to start in Milan later this month. The focus of the campaign is the lifestyle of Barbadians who enjoy free education, medical services and celebrate a festivalevery month.
The announcement was made at a food and music event at Food Loft, Milan. Where Celebrity TV Chef Simone Rugiati partnered with Chef Damian Leach to demonstrate the creation of a signature Barbadian dish.
Rugiati, who has signed on as the island’s culinary partner in Italy, will develop a video series. it showcases his experiences with many local chefs while on the island. The series will be launched on his social networks in May. The Chef will return to Barbados for its Food and Rum Festival in October.
“I would like to thank Chef Simone for filming his experiences of Good Living on our island, and look forward to him sharing them with all of Italy,” said William “Billy” Griffith, BMTI’s CEO.
Another new significant partner for the island is Lufthansa Airlines. Barbados is the only Caribbean island, being served by the Lufthansa Group. Sales Account Executive, Marco Pelosi, announced that the airline will fly to Barbados three days a week this Winter, starting from October 28, via Frankfurt. Italians wishing to visit Barbados can fly from seven cities: Milan, Bologna, Turin, Florence, Venice and Verona.
Anita Nightingale, Director of Europe for the BTMI, pointed out that for the first time, Italians traveling, can check their luggage right through to Bridgetown. The airline therefore allows Barbados to accommodate group travel.
